Our muscles do this crazy thing, where if they feel safe they relax. They can ease deeper into poses and we can gain more flexibility. Just with our minds. Our brain is a muscle – the same concept applies. We need spaces to feel safe being creative collaboratively without scrutiny and without structure. The first herHABITAT that was open to the public was our Open Mic. It was a warm evening filled with talent, love, laughter, joy, and community. As people roamed in off the street or to come support their friends, the small intimate space was soon filled and glowing with anticipation as well as the candles that lit the room.Read more

What is the hardest emotion for you? Why?
Anger is the hardest emotion. I have been raised to believe that it’s wrong to lose my temper and that I should suppress anger. Happiness and sadness are easy for me to express and experience. However, anger is something that is somewhat more difficult to grasp and deal with.
What are your expectations for yourself?
I have really high expectations, like, I try to own my shit. It’s easy to point out the fault in others without doing your own accounting first. I try to be a demonstration of balance and take responsibility for my actions.
