Lost Songs – Teagan Johnston

“About 2 years ago now I moved to Toronto with Brandon Mellett. And since then I’ve had the great privilege of forming a band with two of my best friends Byron Patterson and Mike Poisson and I couldn’t be happier. I spent a lot of time leading up to our move to Toronto and during our first months here writing and recording songs alone at home with just me and my piano. It was a really interesting time of solitude for me in music and although I would never want to go back to that, a lot of good came from it. Fast forward 2 years and Byron Patterson , Mike Poisson and I have recorded a really great album with Aretha Dangerfield and Nathan Carter Moore that we couldn’t be more happy with. Releasing and recording an album like the one we have been working with has been a lengthy process and it has left me reflecting on all that came before what has now become Little Coyote. During the months to come we are very excited to say we will begin releasing new tracks and sharing more of what Little Coyote is all about, so before we do I’ve decided to give a last little goodbye to my solo sound and share with you “Lost Songs.” These songs are a collection of very raw, private demos I’ve recorded over the course of the past three years, speaking to tackling anxiety, falling in and out of love, moving across the country and finding home again. Shout out to Peter Dayand Olivier Clipclop Clements for helping me out with the last track on this little collection a couple of years ago! Enjoy! xx” – Teagan Johnston
