Compromise

Today I started to compromise.

I started with my alarm; it wanted me to wake up at 7:30 and I wanted to get up at noon. We settled for 9:30 with a couple rounds of hour-long snooze.

My to-d0 list said go for a run. But I didn’t have the momentum (or motivation) so I did yoga instead. Next was finish my laundry and ended up making my bed.

I told myself I would write 1000 words, but in light of lack of inspiration I jotted down a few ideas for articles next to the doodles in my journal and skimmed for some old wisdom that could be turned into more than a footnote.

There is a middle ground between what you want to do, and what you want to want to do. This is called what you can do.

I started compromising my all-or-nothings, and turning them into somethings.
